How to Factory Reset Your Cronus Zen

A reset is intentionally destructive. Take a minute to preserve anything you may want to restore afterward.

• Keep local copies of any GPC scripts you use.
• Back up mouse-and-keyboard profiles if you have custom ones.
• Write down any important device settings you changed manually.
• Be prepared to reprogram your memory slots after the reset.

If Zen Studio still detects your device normally, this is the simplest method.

   Connect the Cronus Zen to your PC.

   For normal Zen Studio communication, connect using the Zen's PROG USB port.

   Open Zen Studio.

   Wait for Zen Studio to recognize the connected Cronus Zen before continuing.

   Open the Device panel.

   The Device panel contains the Zen maintenance controls, including Factory Reset and Erase Memory Slots.

   Select Factory Reset.

   Use the Factory Reset option and confirm the reset when prompted.

   Allow the Zen to reset.

   Do not unplug the device during the reset process. Wait for it to restart and reconnect.

   Check your memory slots and settings.

   After a successful reset, device options should be back at their defaults and the memory slots should be empty.

Use the physical hard-reset method when Zen Studio cannot complete a normal factory reset, the device is behaving abnormally, or you need to restore the Zen to an out-of-box state.

1. Disconnect everything from the Cronus Zen.
2. Press and hold the two large blue buttons beside the OLED screen: P1 and P2.
3. Keep both buttons held down.
4. While still holding P1 and P2, connect the Zen to a PC or console using the CONSOLE/PC USB port.
5. Continue holding both buttons for at least 4 seconds.
6. Watch for the Zen RGB LEDs to flash in sequence: RED → GREEN → BLUE.
7. When successful, the Collective Minds gear-head logo should appear on the Zen OLED screen.

Factory Reset, Hard Reset, Reset Device & Erase Slots Explained

Once the reset is complete, treat the Zen like a clean setup. Reconnect and configure only what you actually need.

   Use the PROG USB connection for normal Zen Studio communication.

   Check firmware.

   If you reset the Zen because of stability or corruption problems, verify that the firmware is current before rebuilding the setup.

   Restore device settings.

   Reapply any output, controller, or other device options you intentionally changed before the reset.

   Reinstall your scripts.

   Open your saved GPC files in Zen Studio and program them back to the desired memory slots.

   Reconnect controllers and accessories.

   Add devices back one at a time so any recurring setup problem is easier to identify.

If you cannot complete the reset, work through these checks before assuming the device has failed.

• For the hard reset, begin with absolutely nothing connected to the Zen.
• Make sure you are holding both P1 and P2 before connecting USB power.
• Use the CONSOLE/PC USB port for the physical hard-reset procedure.
• Hold P1 and P2 for at least 4 seconds and watch for the red, green, blue LED sequence.
• If Zen Studio cannot detect the device, troubleshoot the PROG USB cable and connection separately.
• If the OLED remains blank or corrupted and the RGB sequence never appears, consult official Cronus hardware support.
