PUBG Cronus Zen Recoil Settings: Standing vs Crouching vs Prone

Your PUBG Cronus Zen recoil preset may feel different depending on your firing stance. Here’s how to test standing, crouching, and prone recoil correctly.

Before you begin

Start with the recommended baseline, change one value at a time, and test each adjustment under consistent conditions.

If your PUBG Cronus Zen recoil settings feel different while standing, crouching or prone, your script may not actually be changing.

The firing conditions around it may be.

PUBG can apply different recoil-control behaviour depending on weapon and firing position, so a preset tuned while standing should not automatically be assumed to feel identical from every stance.

Does Stance Affect PUBG Recoil?

It can.

PUBG has used firing-position-based recoil control for certain weapons, meaning standing, crouching and prone firing can produce different levels of stability depending on the weapon and current game balance.

Because these mechanics can vary between weapons and updates, avoid assuming there is one universal stance multiplier that applies to every gun.

Why This Matters for Cronus Zen Anti-Recoil

A Cronus Zen anti-recoil preset generally applies a configured controller correction while you fire.

If the weapon itself becomes easier or harder to control because of your firing stance, the same script value can produce a different result.

For example, a value that balances recoil well while standing could feel too strong when the weapon is naturally more stable in another position.

Standing Recoil Settings

Standing is a useful baseline for recoil testing because it is a common firing position and does not rely on the extra stability that another stance may provide.

When tuning a new preset, test several standing bursts first and look for a repeatable pattern.

Watch for:

  • Consistent upward climb
  • Downward over-correction
  • Sideways movement
  • Different behaviour after changing scopes

Once you have a stable standing baseline, compare it against the other stances.

Crouching Can Change How the Same Preset Feels

If the weapon receives additional recoil control while crouched, the weapon may naturally move less than it does while standing.

Your Cronus Zen script will still be applying its configured correction unless it specifically changes values based on another profile or condition.

This can sometimes make a standing-tuned value feel slightly too aggressive while crouching.

Watch for Downward Over-Correction

A common sign that the preset is applying more correction than you currently need is the crosshair moving downward during sustained fire.

If the preset works while standing but begins pulling downward when crouched, test whether the stance itself is changing the weapon's recoil behaviour before rebuilding the entire profile.

If adjustment is necessary, change values gradually.

What About Prone?

Prone can create another firing condition that should be tested separately.

For weapons that receive additional recoil-control benefits from firing position, prone may feel noticeably more stable than standing.

That can make a strong anti-recoil value feel different even though the Cronus Zen script itself has not changed.

The exact result depends on the weapon, attachments, scope and current PUBG balance.

Do You Need Three Separate Recoil Presets?

Not necessarily.

If your current recoil setting performs well enough from all three positions, creating separate values may only make the setup more complicated.

Separate settings become more useful when you repeatedly notice a large and predictable difference between stances.

The practical question is:

Does changing stance consistently make my current preset over-correct or under-correct?

If not, keep the simpler configuration.

Weapon Choice Matters

Do not assume that a stance difference noticed on one PUBG weapon will behave identically on another.

Different guns have different recoil characteristics, and PUBG can also apply weapon-specific balance changes.

When testing a new gun, keep the weapon constant while comparing standing, crouching and prone.

Scope Profiles Matter Too

Your stance is only one part of the recoil setup.

Changing from a low-magnification optic to a higher-magnification scope can make recoil feel very different on screen and may require a different script profile.

For more detail, read our guide to how PUBG scope profiles affect Cronus Zen recoil settings.

Don't Change Scope and Stance at the Same Time

If you are troubleshooting a recoil problem, change one variable at a time.

For example, do not compare a standing 1x test against a prone high-magnification test and assume the difference came entirely from stance.

Keep the same:

  • Weapon
  • Attachments
  • Scope
  • Fire mode
  • Recoil profile

Then change only your stance.

Burst vs Full-Auto Can Change the Test

A short burst and a long automatic spray are not the same recoil test.

If your script supports different profiles or firing behaviours, make sure you are comparing the same fire mode each time.

See our PUBG Cronus Zen burst vs full-auto profile guide for more information.

How to Test Standing vs Crouching vs Prone

Use a repeatable testing method:

  1. Select one weapon.
  2. Keep the same attachments and scope.
  3. Use the same Cronus Zen recoil profile.
  4. Fire several standing bursts at a fixed reference point.
  5. Repeat the same test while crouching.
  6. Repeat it again while prone.
  7. Compare upward climb and downward over-correction.
  8. Only adjust the profile if the difference is consistent.

This isolates stance instead of mixing several settings together.

Should You Tune for Standing First?

For many players, standing is the easiest starting baseline because it gives you a straightforward reference before testing additional recoil-control effects.

After the standing profile feels reasonable, check whether crouching or going prone causes obvious over-correction.

If all three remain usable, there may be no need to complicate the preset.

Don't Forget Attachments

Attachments can also affect recoil behaviour.

If you swap grips or other recoil-related attachments, retest the profile before assuming a new problem is being caused by stance.

The cleanest testing process keeps the weapon configuration identical while changing only one variable.

Check That the Correct PUBG Profile Is Active

If recoil suddenly feels completely wrong, make sure your script is using the intended weapon, scope or recoil profile.

A profile mismatch can create a much larger difference than changing stance alone.

Set Up Cronus Zen for PUBG Correctly

If several parts of the script feel inconsistent, review the overall setup before fine-tuning individual recoil values.

Use our PUBG Cronus Zen setup guide to check the wider configuration.

Compare PUBG Cronus Zen Scripts

Different PUBG scripts may offer different recoil, scope and profile systems.

Final Tip

Tune recoil around repeatable conditions, not one random spray.

Establish a standing baseline, then test crouching and prone using exactly the same weapon, scope, attachments and fire mode. If one stance consistently over-corrects or under-corrects, you can then decide whether the difference is large enough to justify another preset.
