How to Set Up Cronus Zen for Rocket League: Zurn V3.5 Guide
Before you begin

Start with the recommended baseline, change one value at a time, and test each adjustment under consistent conditions.

Zurn V3.5 is a Rocket League Cronus Zen script built around configurable movement shortcuts, automatic mods and detailed timing adjustments.

Because it contains eight Power Buttons and more than 20 movement and utility features, setting it up correctly is more important than simply loading the GPC and immediately enabling everything.

This guide walks through installing Zurn V3.5, understanding its default controls, configuring the OLED menu and testing its movement mods one at a time.

What You Need

Before starting, make sure you have:

  • A Cronus Zen
  • A compatible controller
  • A Windows PC with Zen Studio
  • The Zurn V3.5 GPC file
  • A suitable USB connection
  • Your normal Rocket League controller setup

You can find the script on the Zurn V3.5 product page or browse the full Rocket League Cronus Zen script collection.

Step 1: Make Sure Your Cronus Zen Is Ready

Before configuring Zurn, make sure Zen Studio detects your Cronus Zen correctly and that your normal controller connection is working.

It is much easier to troubleshoot the script after you already know the device itself is connected correctly.

If necessary, update your Zen firmware before installing the GPC.

Step 2: Open Zurn V3.5 in Zen Studio

Open the Zurn V3.5 GPC file in Zen Studio.

The basic process is:

  1. Open Zen Studio.
  2. Load the Zurn V3.5 GPC.
  3. Compile the script.
  4. Confirm there are no compiler errors.
  5. Add it to an available Zen memory slot.
  6. Program your Cronus Zen.

If you have never installed a GPC before, follow the CzenScripts GPC installation guide.

Step 3: Understand the Zurn Power Buttons

Zurn V3.5 has eight Power Buttons.

These are controller inputs or button combinations used to trigger assignable movement mods such as Wavedash, Musty Flick, Kickoffs and Zurn Shots.

The script allows each Power Button to use either:

  • One controller button
  • A two-button combination
  • OFF

The GPC specifically recommends choosing buttons you do not normally need during gameplay.

Default Zurn V3.5 Power Buttons

The current GPC ships with the following definitions using PlayStation-style button names:

Power Button Default Activator
Power Button 1 Square + Cross
Power Button 2 Off
Power Button 3 Triangle
Power Button 4 D-pad Down
Power Button 5 D-pad Left
Power Button 6 D-pad Left + R2
Power Button 7 D-pad Right
Power Button 8 D-pad Right + R2

These are the definitions inside the current GPC. If you edit the script before compiling it, the Power Button definitions can be changed.

One-Button vs Two-Button Power Buttons

A Power Button can use one input by setting its second activator to OFF.

Alternatively, it can require two buttons to be used together.

Two-button combinations are useful when you want access to more mods without sacrificing controller inputs that already have an important Rocket League function.

Step 4: Program Zurn V3.5 to Your Zen

Once you are happy with the Power Button definitions, compile the GPC and program it to an available Cronus Zen memory slot.

After programming:

  1. Connect the Zen to your gaming system.
  2. Connect your controller correctly.
  3. Select the memory slot containing Zurn V3.5.
  4. Confirm normal controller inputs work.

Do this before changing movement timings.

Step 5: Understand the Script On/Off Controls

The current Zurn V3.5 GPC starts with the script ON.

Its default script controls use:

  • Turn script OFF: tap Options once
  • Turn script ON: double-tap Circle

The GPC uses a red LED and softer rumble when switching off, while switching on uses green LED feedback and stronger rumble.

The script's own instructions specifically note that Zurn should be turned off after a match or training session.

Step 6: Open the Zurn OLED Menu

Zurn V3.5 includes an extensive OLED configuration menu.

The default menu controls in the current GPC are:

Action Control
Open menu Hold L2 + Options
Navigate pages D-pad Left / Right
Navigate options D-pad Up / Down
Close menu Circle

The GPC defines these controls using PlayStation-style labels.

Step 7: Configure Your Power Button Mods

The first four OLED pages are dedicated to Power Buttons:

  • Power Buttons 1 / 2
  • Power Buttons 3 / 4
  • Power Buttons 5 / 6
  • Power Buttons 7 / 8

Use the D-pad to move through the available mod choices.

The script's menu instructions designate:

  • Triangle for assigning/saving mods to Power Buttons 1–4
  • Square for assigning/saving mods to Power Buttons 5–8

Which Mods Can You Assign?

Zurn V3.5 includes 15 assignable Power Button choices plus OFF:

  • Right Zurn Shot
  • Left Zurn Shot
  • Take Off
  • Right Kickoff
  • Left Kickoff
  • Far Right Kickoff
  • Far Left Kickoff
  • Right Wall Jump
  • Left Wall Jump
  • Right Tornado Spin
  • Stall
  • Musty Flick
  • Wavedash
  • Left Wall Dash
  • Right Wall Dash

A Good Starter Power Button Setup

You do not need to assign all eight Power Buttons immediately.

For a first setup, choose two or three movements that you actually want to test.

For example:

  • One kickoff routine
  • Wavedash
  • One Wall Dash or Wall Jump

Once those are working correctly, add additional Power Mods.

Step 8: Configure the Automatic Mods

After the Power Button pages, Zurn V3.5 has separate OLED pages for automatic features.

The current menu includes:

  • Front Speedflips
  • Back Speedflips
  • Auto Ball Cam
  • Speed Drift
  • Stop Car
  • Fast Flip
  • Camera Shake
  • Drift Jump/Dodge
  • Boost Saver
  • Jump Mod

These can be switched between ON and OFF through the OLED menu.

Front Speedflips

Front Speedflips are an automatic movement feature rather than something that must be assigned to a Power Button.

The script monitors the relevant stick and jump inputs and runs its programmed sequence when the required conditions are met.

If you want to use this feature, enable it first and test the existing timing before adjusting anything.

Back Speedflips

Zurn also provides a separate Back Speedflips option.

Because it is independent from the front system, you can choose whether you want either or both enabled.

Fast Flip

Fast Flip is another automatic movement option included in the OLED menu.

It uses its own programmed movement sequence and can also be fine-tuned through the script's adjustment system.

Auto Ball Cam

Auto Ball Cam can automatically manage the script's programmed camera switching behaviour.

Zurn V3.5 contains separate short and long timing values for this feature.

Check the Zurn instructions before enabling it because the GPC contains specific notes regarding the expected in-game camera configuration.

Speed Drift

Speed Drift provides automatic programmed power-drift behaviour when the required steering conditions are detected.

The script exposes both:

  • Drift Time
  • Block Time

These can be changed through Fine Adjustments.

Drift Jump/Dodge

This option applies programmed drift behaviour around jumping and dodging.

The GPC includes separate timing for jump-related and dodge-related drift behaviour.

The source script also warns that this feature is not intended for configurations where air roll and drift use the same controller button.

Boost Saver

Boost Saver limits how long the script continues its programmed boost input.

It contains separate configuration for:

  • Ground boost time
  • Air boost time

This lets you tune the two situations independently.

Step 9: Use Fine Adjustments

Many Zurn V3.5 mods have additional timing values available directly through the OLED menu.

The current GPC uses the following controls:

Fine Adjustment Action Control
Open Fine Adjustments Press Cross on a supported mod
Move between adjustment options D-pad Up / Down
Adjust value by 1 D-pad Left / Right
Adjust value by 10 Hold R2 + D-pad Left / Right
Save and close Fine Adjustments Circle

Which Mods Have Fine Adjustments?

The current Zurn V3.5 GPC provides adjustment pages for several important features, including:

  • Zurn Shot
  • Take Off
  • Left and Right Kickoffs
  • Far Kickoffs
  • Speedflips
  • Wavedash
  • Wall Jumps
  • Tornado Spin
  • Auto Ball Cam
  • Speed Drift
  • Fast Flip
  • Boost Saver

Step 10: Test Before Changing Timings

Do not immediately change every Fine Adjustment value.

First test the existing configuration.

A better process is:

  1. Enable or assign one mod.
  2. Test it several times.
  3. Identify which part of the movement needs adjustment.
  4. Change one value slightly.
  5. Test the same movement again.
  6. Repeat only if necessary.

This is particularly important with scripted movement combos because several controller inputs are happening in a specific sequence.

Setting Up Zurn Kickoffs

Zurn V3.5 provides four main kickoff routines:

  • Left Kickoff
  • Right Kickoff
  • Far Left Kickoff
  • Far Right Kickoff

Assign the kickoff you want to a Power Button, then test it from the appropriate starting position.

The GPC provides separate adjustment values for areas such as straight-drive or boost timing, kickoff angle and far-kickoff speedflip timing.

Do not tune a left kickoff while testing from a different starting position and expect the results to remain consistent.

Setting Up Wavedash

To configure Wavedash:

  1. Open the Power Button menu.
  2. Choose an available Power Button.
  3. Select Wavedash.
  4. Save the assignment.
  5. Test the combo.
  6. Open Fine Adjustments with Cross if needed.

The current GPC exposes timing related to the straight-flight and Y-angle portions of the movement.

Setting Up Zurn Shot

Zurn V3.5 includes both:

  • Left Zurn Shot
  • Right Zurn Shot

Assign the direction you want to an available Power Button.

If the movement needs tuning, use its Fine Adjustment page rather than changing unrelated script settings.

Setting Up Wall Jump and Wall Dash

Zurn provides separate left and right versions of Wall Jump and Wall Dash.

This allows you to assign only the directions you actually want rather than using one universal movement command.

Wall Jump also exposes additional timing controls through the Fine Adjustment system.

Setting Up Tornado Spin

The Tornado Spin system includes configuration for:

  • Left/right direction
  • Straightness

If Tornado Spin does not behave the way you expect, adjust those values gradually instead of immediately modifying several other movement settings.

Don't Enable Everything at Once

Zurn V3.5 contains enough mods that enabling everything immediately can make troubleshooting difficult.

A cleaner first setup might be:

  1. Configure two Power Buttons.
  2. Enable Front Speedflips if wanted.
  3. Test those settings.
  4. Add one kickoff.
  5. Test again.
  6. Add automatic utility mods individually.

You can then build the script around the movements you actually use.

What If Zurn V3.5 Isn't Working?

If nothing happens after loading the script, check:

  • The correct Cronus Zen memory slot is selected.
  • The script is currently turned ON.
  • The GPC compiled correctly.
  • Your controller is connected normally.
  • The intended Power Button has a mod assigned.
  • The automatic mod you want is enabled.
  • You are using the correct activation inputs.

Remember that the script can be switched off by tapping its configured OFF button, so check its status before changing timings.

What If a Power Mod Runs but the Movement Is Wrong?

If the mod activates but the movement itself needs improvement, that usually means you should inspect its Fine Adjustments before reinstalling the entire script.

Use Cross to open the available adjustment page and change one timing value at a time.

You can also check the CzenScripts script instructions by game page for additional documentation.

Recommended Setup Order

For a clean Zurn V3.5 setup, use this order:

  1. Get the Cronus Zen and controller working normally.
  2. Load Zurn V3.5 in Zen Studio.
  3. Review the Power Button definitions.
  4. Compile and program the script.
  5. Select the correct memory slot.
  6. Open the OLED menu with L2 + Options.
  7. Assign only a few Power Mods.
  8. Enable only the automatic features you want.
  9. Test everything at its existing values.
  10. Use Fine Adjustments only where necessary.

Final Thoughts

Zurn V3.5 is more configurable than a basic Rocket League GPC because its setup revolves around eight Power Buttons, 15 assignable movement mods, automatic features and individual timing adjustments.

The most important thing is not to enable or adjust everything immediately.

Start with a few movements, learn the OLED controls, confirm your Power Button assignments and then tune individual timings only when a specific movement needs adjustment.
